Sandra van den Bosse
Sandra van den Bosse is a Dutch national who came to the United States in 2003 after many years working in human rights and international development in the former Yugoslavia, England, and the Philippines.
In the US her focus has been responding to domestic violence. She worked at Praxis International, a training and research organization that works towards eliminating domestic violence through national reform initiatives.
She obtained her MSW at UMD in 2008 and had her graduate thesis on childhood exposure to domestic violence published by the journal Child Welfare.
Since 2009, she has been co-facilitating Coordinating a Process of Change for Men Who Batter groups at the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project and is a part of their training team.
She is excited about teaching in the Social Work Department. Her areas of interest include: non-profit capacity building, system’s change, critical thinking, social policy, cross-cultural communication, international citizenship and domestic violence, especially where it intersects with child welfare.
