All programs in the Department of Applied Human Sciences are built upon state and/or nationally articulated professional standards. Depending upon the program pursued, students are typically exposed to significant amounts of applied learning experiences in laboratories, public schools, health programs and agencies, or outdoor and wilderness settings.
Graduate Degree
Master of Environmental Education: develops students into advanced practitioners who will take on leadership roles in environmental education.
Undergraduate Degrees
Childhood Nature Studies: prepares students to work in a variety of family, childcare, early learning, school, and community settings, with a goal of supporting child development as well as more socially just and ecologically sustainable communities.
Environmental & Outdoor Education: prepares entry-level professionals to work in the broad field of outdoor education, including adventure education, environmental interpretation, and environmental education.
Exercise & Rehabilitation Sciences: utilizes a solid science foundation and applied coursework to prepare students for a range of allied health-related careers and graduate education possibilities.
Health & Physical Education: an excellent fit for those who are passionate about health, wellness, and physical education.
Physical Education Teacher Education: prepares prospective teachers for licensure in physical education (K-12) in Minnesota.
Public Health: prepares students to become professional, caring leaders in a range of public health careers or graduate studies that benefit the health and wellness of diverse individuals, families, and communities.
