Why did you choose UMD?
I chose UMD because I believe in the power of human connection and building positive relationships within my community. What better way to accomplish those things than to learn from and connect with local experts in the field? UMD’s commitment to uplifting the community through informed practice, and its humanistic approach to supporting student’s success made this an easy choice.
What do you like most about your program?
I really enjoy how much the social work program challenges me to question my understanding of the world while exploring my own positionality. The social work program has given me countless opportunities to reflect and grow as both an individual and a student.
What has been your most meaningful experience at UMD so far?
My most meaningful experience at UMD (so far) was organizing a Scooby-Doo themed holiday event alongside students at Denfeld High School as part of my Community Volunteer Experience course.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I spend most of my free time with my partner and our two amazing children. We enjoy playing soccer, skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking, swimming, listening to music, reading books, watching movies, making art, and playing Nintendo Switch together.
