Robert F. Pierce (RFP) Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic 

The RFP Clinic offers free speech, language and hearing services to community members. The RFP Clinic does not bill insurance. By offering free services, the clinic provides increased access to our programs and supports educational opportunities for students.

Clients participate in therapy programs with graduate student interns under the guidance of therapists licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.  

Clinic Schedule for Academic Year 2024-2025

The RFP Clinic follows the UMD academic calendar. The following schedule is subject to change based on university schedule and policy changes.

Clinic Policies

Closure: in case of severe weather or emergency

RFP Clinic follows the University schedule. In the event of severe weather or other emergencies, the University goes to reduced operations. When the University goes to reduced operations, the clinic facility closes. 

  • Full-day reduced operations: If the University has reduced operation for a full day, the clinic is closed the full day
  • Morning reduced operations/ “late start”: If the University reduces operations and has a late start, the clinic is closed for the full day.
  • Afternoon reduced operations: If the University announces reduced operations for the afternoon, the clinic will close at that time reduced operations go into effect.

Announcements of University reduced operations likely will not be announced on the local media.

It can be helpful to check the University of Minnesota Safe Campus site for updates on campus safety.

There are three ways you can stay informed about the University going to reduced operations. If the University has reduced operations, RFP Clinic is closed:
