Approval and Licensing

The Department of Education and CEHSP Accreditation office at the University of Minnesota Duluth completes on-going program and unit level review with the Minnesota Board of Teaching to ensure program approval for all teacher preparation programs.  The Minnesota Board of Teaching works directly with the Educator Licensing at the Minnesota Department of Education to grant licensure to teacher education program completers. Information regarding program completion rates may be found on the link entitled "Title II Report".

The Department of Education is required to complete a bi-annual Program Effectiveness Report for Continuing Approval (PERCA) process with the Minnesota Board of Teaching.  This includes a review of course curriculum, alignment to board of teaching standards, and program data. The Department of Education is also required to complete a Unit On-Site Visit every seven years with the MN Board of Teaching.
