Hey everyone! My name is Abby Shelby and I’m going to be a senior here at UMD! I am a double major in Psychology and French, as well as a minor in Communications. I have had so many great experiences and opportunities here at UMD, from meeting great faculty, to interning in the Career Center last semester, to studying abroad last fall! Currently, I work at Lutheran Social Services Center For Changing Lives on East Superior Street as a youth worker for homeless teenagers and young adults. Every day I learn something new from my residents and I love that I get to use my degree for the job that I am already doing! I hope to continue working with the homeless and vulnerable populations in the future as well. When I am not working or attending school, I love to swim, make macrame art, color, watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, and most importantly: dance!! If you have questions regarding the UMD psychology program, study abroad, internships, or the Career Center, I am your gal! I can also help with specific courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Learning and Behavior, Theories of Personality, Cognition, and Statistics! I look forward to meeting you!
