I moved up to the Northland in 2007 from my hometown Kiel, Wisconsin. I grew up in a large family with four siblings, two brothers and two sisters, and a range of animals on our family's hobby farm. I spent most of my time growing up with dirt underneath my fingernails and exploring my family's 40-acre forest.
In 2010, I graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, where I earned a B.S. in Outdoor Education – Natural History and minored in Environmental Studies. Unbelievably,
Kathy and I attended Northland College together, enrolled in the same program and I am ecstatic to be working and building a great program together.
Since graduation, I have worked as an Admissions Counselor for Northland College, seasonally working in Anchorage, Alaska, where I worked as a Lead Instructor for youth environmental programming and expeditions for Trailside Discovery Camp and substitute teaching at Duluth Edison Charter School - North Star Academy.
I live up in Woodland with my partner Marika and spend my free time reading, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, tinkering, and sailing Wednesday nights on the boat Udder Chaos.
