Hi everyone! I’m Emma Hansen, a senior at UMD double-majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science.

I’m also the club president for Access for All (AFA), which has been a great way to connect with other students and make a positive impact on campus. My main academic interests are in cognition, disability treatment, and diagnostic assessment.

One of the highlights of my time at UMD was participating in the URSA program—I was selected to study abroad in Morocco, where I designed and conducted my own independent research study, which I plan to publish later this year. When I’m not on campus or studying, I work at Choice Unlimited, where I support individuals with a variety of disabilities. This role has given me hands-on experience in practical interventions and person-centered care.

As a peer advisor, I love helping students figure out course planning, research opportunities, and campus resources. I’m always happy to chat about study abroad, research experiences, disability services, or anything else you might have questions about. My goal is to make advising friendly, supportive, and as helpful as possible! Feel free to reach out to me at any time!
