Program Learning Outcomes

Part I. Graduate Program Learning Goals (GPLG) and Graduate Program Learning Outcomes (GPLO)

Graduate Program Learning Goals are broad, general statements defining the scope and focus of learning that will take place over the program. UMD Graduate Programs identify a Graduate Program Learning Goal (GPLG) that aligns with each of the UMD Campus-wide Graduate Learning Goal Categories. Programs then identify one or more Graduate Program Learning Outcomes to align with each GPLG.

Your Graduate Program Learning Outcomes specify what a student is expected to know or be able to do. Graduate Program Learning Outcomes should be detailed and meaningful enough to provide
student results that can be used to guide decisions in program planning, improvement, and practice.
