The Community College Teaching Graduate (Post-baccalaureate) Certificate provides an opportunity for post-baccalaureate students to learn how to be effective teachers in a college setting. This program is delivered primarily via the classroom, meaning instruction is face-to-face, and consists of 14 credits. For more information see the University Catalog.

Student Handbook
Admissions
- Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0.
- Apply for admission fall or spring semester.
- The application period for Fall 2023 admission has passed, but we are accepting applications for admission in Spring 2024.
Application
Complete the application for admission form before completing the required coursework. Applications are submitted to the University of Minnesota Graduate School online application system. Because the application system is used across the U of MN campuses by various graduate programs, not all parts of the application are required. The application fee for U.S. applicants and permanent residents is $75 and $95 for international applicants.

Certificate Completion
- This form is submitted when a student enrolls in the last course of the certificate requirements and is required for certificate completion.
Tuition and Fees
- This certificate is not eligible for financial aid.

Program Learning Outcomes
Part I. Graduate Program Learning Goals (GPLG) and Graduate Program Learning Outcomes (GPLO)
Graduate Program Learning Goals are broad, general statements defining the scope and focus of learning that will take place over the program. UMD Graduate Programs identify a Graduate Program Learning Goal (GPLG) that aligns with each of the UMD Campus-wide Graduate Learning Goal Categories. Programs then identify one or more Graduate Program Learning Outcomes to align with each GPLG.

Part II. Graduate Program Learning Outcomes (GPLO) and Program Requirements
These are the observable, measurable behaviors, knowledge, skills and understandings the program has determined will demonstrate students’ proficiency toward the Graduate Program Learning Goals (listed in Part I). Your Graduate Program Learning Outcomes specify what a student is expected to know or be able to do. Graduate Program Learning Outcomes should be detailed and meaningful enough to provide
student results that can be used to guide decisions in program planning, improvement, and practice.
