Mark Mizuko, Ph.D. is Professor and Department Head of Communication Sciences and Disorders. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. In 2006, he was appointed a visiting professorship with the China Rehabilitation Research Center in Beijing.
He has guest lectured in Tokyo, Osaka, Shimane, Beijing and Seoul at several institutions, including the China Rehabilitation Research Center, Waseda University, and Ewha Womans University. In 2017, he was the first American to be invited as a keynote speaker at the Academic Association of Japanese Speech Therapy. His current research interests include assistive technology, augmentative communication, child language development and management of dementia management. He continues to work with his colleagues at Tokyo University, Waseda University, Osaka Jikei College and Ewha Womans University in Seoul.
