Hi! My name is Katie. I started working in Early Childhood Education in 2009. I started as an aide and found the work so impactful and rewarding that I pursued a degree. I have spent the last 15 years teaching and supporting children in the area. In the beginning of my career, I worked for Summit School as an infant teacher. From there I went to teach at the Steve O'Neil Apartments in their early childhood program. I briefly worked for the YWCA as an administrator, then as a paraprofessional at the Duluth Edison Charter Schools. As a teacher, I feel that children learn through play and experience in nature.
In my free time, I spend a lot of time with my son and our dog. In the summer, I love to garden and ride my bike. Right now, I only have a vegetable garden but I’m hoping to add a pollinator garden to the mix. I look forward to meeting everyone soon!
