Accreditation
The University of Minnesota Duluth’s Department of Education maintains accreditation from the Minnesota Professional Educators and Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). This 6-year accreditation cycle is based upon Minnesota Legislature Administrative Rule and allows the CEHSP License Officer to recommend graduates of UMD’s teacher preparation programs for license in the state of Minnesota.
PELSB’s Program Effectiveness Report for Continuing Approval (PERCA) 3 year process assures that UMD’s Department of Education’s teacher preparation programs include both the Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice and Content Standards (Teacher Standards).
As a result of the fall 2023 institutional evaluation the University of Minnesota Duluth was granted continuing approval from June 30, 2030 with the next site visit to occur in fall 2029.
