Accreditation
Our team ensures the College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP) teacher preparation programs maintain Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) approval for recommending teacher candidates for licensure. We support the Department of Education in meeting all teacher preparation standards required by the state of Minnesota.
Licensure Support
We support current teacher licensure students throughout their time at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Major aspects of our work include: connecting with teacher candidates along their pathway to licensure, completing the Minnesota state teacher licensing process, and assuring course work meets PELSB standards required for licensure. Professional licensure support is also available to the Department of Social Work and the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program within CEHSP.Â
Clinical Experiences (Field Experiences and Student Teaching)
We deepen University to School partnerships to provide teacher candidates with multiple clinical experiences as they work toward licensure. Major aspects of our work include: providing placements for teacher candidates to engage with diverse populations, providing mentorship of teacher candidates and sustaining a strong partner network to enhance placement opportunities.
