Residential Summer Program
The residential Summer Program is the heart of Upward Bound, providing students with the experience of living and taking classes on a college campus while also offering opportunities to learn other important skills. The summer program takes place on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. Students stay in the dorms in Frontier Hall during the week and go home on weekends. During the day the students take academic classes in math, science, foreign languages, and more! During the evening the students either have free time and a variety of activities planned by our residential staff, or they have fun field trips! Students are picked up from a local high school in Minneapolis or Duluth on Monday morning and are dropped of at that same high school on Friday afternoon.
Week 6 Trip
Our all-inclusive educational trip! We cover the hotel, meals, and all activity fees, you just have to show up! Students joining us for the Week 6 trip must be in good standing with the program and have participated in the full 2025 summer program (or have participated in two summer programs with us). During this trip, if parents need to get a hold of a full-time staff, they can call or text us at 952-486-3805. This year, we went to Iowa City, Iowa, St. Louis, Missouri, and LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
