Professional Interests: Amy earned her Ph.D. at Lancaster University in the UK where she studied Environmental Philosophy, with an emphasis on human-nature relations, experiences of the sublime, and outdoor adventure education pedagogy. She served on the faculty of two other universities in South Carolina and northern California, and came to UMD from Colorado where she served as a Program Director at Colorado Mountain College. Her interest areas include outdoor adventure education, environmental philosophy, environmental justice, and diversity & equity in the outdoors.
