Upcoming screening: half the sky

What if you could change the lives of women and girls worldwide?

“Sometimes we see something that moves us and we are
momentarily inspired to act. Often though, that momentum gives
way as we move back into thinking about our daily lives.”
~Nicholas Kristof, Half the Sky

Please join the students and faculty from the UMD Early
Childhood Studies Program on January 31st from 5-7pm in LSBE 118 as they host a
showing of the film Half the Sky followed by a panel discussion.
This showing is to spread awareness of sex trafficking
around the world, regionally and locally. The event is
intended to inspire our community to take action by bringing to
our attention the tragic reality of oppression impacting women
and children worldwide, regionally and locally. With the
awareness about the importance of keeping the momentum
going, future seminars will be designed to continue the global
dialogue, as well as address issues in the US/MN/Duluth/UMD
(poverty, ACEs, sex trafficking, DV...)
