Amy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then worked as an Americorps member at a middle school before returning for her MSW at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. After graduating, Amy worked with children and families at a non-profit doing skills and in-home family therapy through the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. She then relocated to Denmark, where she worked in the public child welfare system for 5 years. She returned to the US in 2017 and joined the UMD Department of Social Work as the Student Support Coordinator for the Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies. She also enjoys coaching students in their personal and professional development and engaging with them around the Intercultural Development Inventory.
